In this issue we meet with Mohammed Bin Zaal, former CEO of Al Barari, as he introduces us to KOA, a unique real estate concept that aims to bring a new definition to residential living in the UAE.
KOA has been created with the aim of leading Dubai’s real estate industry into a new era of cultural and urban enrichment that contributes to the soul of a dynamic new Dubai.
Drawing on his extensive experience in both the real estate and service industries, Mohammed Bin Zaal’s focus for KOA will be on creating livable spaces that reflect the lifestyles of a new, forward-thinking generation of UAE residents.
Under the KOA umbrella, Mohammed Bin Zaal’s will develop unique residential communities, retail concepts, and introduce a new approach to working spaces. Each project will reflect the global outlook of the region and meet the regional demand for individual expression and stronger ties to culture.
We ask him more about the KOA project
What is the DNA of KOA?
The definition of KOA is strength, and this is an aspirational project to not only give people their dream homes, working spaces and communities, but also to set a new standard in the region of what urban developments should stand for, supporting the UAE and the region in it’s drive forward in cultural enrichment.
How do you feel about the project?
I’m incredibly excited by what KOA means for real estate in the region. I feel that it is the next step in the evolution of property development in Dubai. It’s about the real estate industry catching up with the demands of a new generation of residents, and the long-term vision of the region.
We have a number of creative workspaces in Dubai. In terms of design, what would you say makes KOA different?
All aspects of KOA projects will seek to push boundaries not only in design but in the way people live and work, Taking inspiration from around the world to ensure a fresh new aesthetic across all projects, KOA wants to redefine what urban communities mean in the region with spaces that are designed to enhance work, rest and play. Even more than that, KOA will be an active part of the community, supporting local talent and nurturing potential through design competitions, scholarships, art shows and creative collaborations.
Tell us a bit about the mix of the types of projects in the development?
It will offer everything one needs in a community. KOA’s properties will include residential, commercial, retail spaces that are regionally unmatched in terms of new design, special services, and access to culture, nature and real buzzing communities. KOA’s projects’ strength lies in creating unique spaces and that are focused on enhancing human experiences.
Can you tell us a bit more about CANVAS?
‘Canvas’ will be a showcase of the KOA ethos in terms of design, finish and facilities. ‘Canvas’ is located near Mohammed bin Rashid Gardens, off of Emirates Road. The property is conveniently located 20 minutes from the city but it feels much further from the hustle and bustle, offering its residents peace and tranquility while in the home space. This connection and commitment to nature is one of KOA’s defining characteristics.
The area is certainly tranquil. Was it always your plan to have a project surrounded by nature?
At Canvas, we will preserve the ecological balance and sustainability of the local area through landscaping focused on celebrating the regions indigenous plant species. ‘Canvas’ is the dream home that residents have always imagined living in.
How many apartments are in CANVAS?
There are seventy apartments available within the Canvas building with sunset and Dubai city views. With seven floors dedicated to apartment style living, Canvas is offering studio, one, two and three apartment bedroom floorplans, and several options for layouts available. Canvas will have an unmatched range of features & facilities including a gourmet market, daycare facilities, fitness studios, pool, water features, landscaped gardens, barbecue areas and art displays around the grounds.
Are you already selling the apartments?
