Sumo Sushi & Bento

There are lots of Japanese restaurants in Dubai but none as good as Sumo Sushi & Bento. I first tried the food from Sumo Sushi & Bento Sumo at home a few weeks ago ordering on Zomato and then a few nights ago, went to their restaurant at the Town Centre on Beach Road.

Sumo Sushi & Bento is the originator of family friendly sushi dining in the region has curated special offers featuring the finest Japanese cuisine. We went in a small group which was perfect as it meant we could share a wide variety of dishes.

For starters, we sampled delicious Samurai poke salad, Kunoichi rolls, phoenix rolls, crispy calamari rings, kushiyaki chicken and the very yummy crispy karai chicken. 

For mains, we had a selection of a Bento tray with tuna sashimi, tuna nigiri, tuna rolls and a poke garden salad. I love ramen so instead of sharing my gyoza ramen, I finished a whole bowl of ramen noodles on my own. We shared the yummiest BBQ beef bento as well in town, that was sensational in both taste and presentation.

For dessert, our highlight was tempura ice cream (Fried vanilla ice cream in crispy panko shell), Ube-licious (Sumo’s unique ube ice cream served with shaved coconut and a selection of mochi in assorted flavours (creamy gourmet ice cream wrapped in a sweetened rice confection). 

The vibe at Sumo Sushi & Bento may be casual but the food is premium and high end in both quality and taste. The secret is of course the use of fresh ingredients and 

The service was impeccable, and all the staff were friendly. Our server, Ko Ko went the extra mile giving us tips on what to order.

Currently Sumo Sushi & Bento has a back-to-school offer to get a free sushi dish on spending AED 55/- for all students with their new academic school year. Free Sushi options include Crunchy Crazy, Sweet Potato Crunch, California on showing your ID.

There are also offers on Kushiyaki chicken priced at AED 29/- and the Kunoichi Roll, a captivating sushi roll dressed in Hamachi and salmon, stuffed with unagi, avocado, Asparagus with an added twist of Scallions, tabikko and sauce. This is priced at AED 65/-. Plus when you buy two rolls at Sumo Sushi & Bento outlets, you get 30% off selected items.

Sumo Sushi & Bento meals are available for Dine in, take away and for Delivery all day. For me, I enjoyed the dine in option more and the amazing service certainly warrants a repeat visit. In addition, parking at Town Centre mall is free so diners can spend hours over their meal catching up with friends and family.
