Last weekend, I went to the opening of Medici by Trove at Dubai Mall and honestly, it was one of those events where every detail felt considered, creative, and genuinely fun.

Located in Fashion Avenue, Medici by Trove is the newest concept by Gastronaut Hospitality, and it brings a fresh take on Italian dining that feels stylish but still super comfortable. Think white linen tables, soft pink arches, dreamy lighting, and a space that instantly makes you want to stay longer than planned.

The opening wasn’t just about sitting down to eat.  It was an experience. We tried a selection of food and drinks from the menu, and everything felt refined without being intimidating. The flavours are rooted in Italian classics but presented in a modern, expressive way that feels very current.

One of my favourite moments? Learning flower arrangements as part of the evening. It was such a thoughtful addition and really captured what Medici is about which is creativity, beauty, and enjoying the process, not just the end result.

Now let’s talk desserts. Because Medici is that place for dessert lovers. There are over 30 dessert options, and then there’s the star of the show: the Flying Dessert. Watching dessert literally take flight was pure theatre as it was playful, unexpected, and definitely Instagram-worthy. It turns dessert into a moment, not just a course.

What I loved most is how Medici feels like a place you can come back to again and again. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, meetings, dates, or just dessert, it adapts to whatever mood you’re in. Even though it is right in the middle of Dubai Mall, it somehow feels calm, warm, and personal. And yes… I will definitely be back for dessert.
