Breaking Fast in a Futurstic setting

Woohoo iftar Feels Like Dining Inside a Sci-Fi Film

Natasha Dury

Dubai has done extravagant. Dubai has done sky-high. But Woohoo at Kempinski The Boulevard might just have done the most Gen Z thing yet for my friends, making Ramadan Iftar feel like a fully immersive, tech-powered experience without losing the emotional core of the moment.

From the second you walk in, it feels different. The holographic visuals. The glitch-art projections. The way the space almost pulses with light. It’s giving sci-fi energy but elevated. We broke our fast in a room that feels like the future.

And then the food starts arriving. Let’s talk presentation because this is where Woohoo really understands the camera generation. The tartare isn’t just plated. It is served dramatically on a dinosaur-leg stand that is bold, playful, slightly surreal.

It feels like something out of a digital fantasy world. It is theatrical in the best way possible, and yes, it absolutely earns its moment on stories before you even take the first bite.

The desserts? They arrive on a solar system inspired stand that look almost architectural with planets that are half bowls which makes the plating feel curated rather than conventional. It is not just about sweetness at the end of a meal; it is about design. The baklava with vanilla ice cream becomes part of a larger visual story  where tradition meets technology, right there on the table.

Even the drinks don’t escape the concept. Some are presented on bases shaped like miniature rockets in a subtle nod to innovation and forward-thinking design. It is playful without being over-the-top, and it reinforces the idea that every element here has intention.

But here is the important part as it is not all aesthetics. The Turkish inspired starters are genuinely flavourful even in a futuristic setting. The aubergine dolma carries that home-style warmth. The menu does not abandon Ramadan traditions; it reframes them.

That balance is what makes Woohoo resonate. AI may be part of the broader culinary philosophy, but the execution feels human. The staff are attentive without hovering. The service feels polished yet relaxed. It does not feel like dining with robots. It feels like dining in a space where technology quietly enhances the experience. Even when Chef Aiman came on screen, he came with a heart warming ramadan message.

For a generation that grew up digital but still craves authenticity, this Iftar hits differently. It understands that we want meaning and aesthetic. As a Gen Z, I want both tradition and innovation and have comfort food, but plated like art. Woohoo not only served me iftar, but gave me a memorable experience. And honestly? Ramadan in the future in this type of setting looks pretty good.
