The Merchant of Venice, the renowned Venetian brand of artistic perfumeryis delighted to open its doors outside of Italy for the first time on June 26, 2018 at the new luxury fragrance destination Perfumery & Co in the Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue. Stemming from the prestigious perfume museum in Venice at Palazzo Mocenigo andhaving a strong connection to its rich historical roots, The Merchant of Venice expresses the beautiful heritage of Venice. The launch was attended by world-renowned master perfumer, Alexandra Monet, and CEO, Marco Vidal.
The luxurious perfume brand is heavily influenced by the early Renaissance and ancient Venetian perfumery art. The scents encapsulate the amalgamation of spices and aromas brought into Venice through different trade routes. Reflecting the iconic history, The Merchant of Venice represents unique and sophisticated perfume lines suitable for every occasion and for both genders.
The conceptof this boutique is in line with the ones previously designed by Pier Luigi Pizzi, the internationally acclaimed theatre set designer who already authored the restyling of the exhibition in the Perfume Museum, in Palazzo Mocenigo, Venice. Inside, customers can immerse themselves in the world of The Merchant of Venice, with offerings ranging from exclusive Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette, along with body care, room products and accessories. The fragrances are inspired by ancient Venetian perfumery art and bottled in elegant design packages that are reminiscent of the millenary tradition of Murano glass. Guests can also act roles of master perfumer by combining and creating their own scents, and in the process discovering the ancient secrets of a timeless tradition.
On top of the sensory shopping experience, the Dubai Mall boutique also displays the rarest and most luxurious gems created by some of their master perfumers. One of them, Alexandra Monet who was present at the event demonstrated how to distinguish between the various fragrance families and characteristics as well as introduced fragrance creation through the use of fine natural and synthetic raw materials. Being an ardent scent enthusiast, her emotions are closely tied into her creations. She particularly enjoys the magical smell of patchouli, a unique raw material masterly merged into many of The Merchant of Venice perfumes giving intensity and richness to the fragrances.
